Westwood Works 1903-2003

Angling

A very popular section with members fishing the River Nene at the Town Bridge and upstream at Milton Ferry. Inter company fishing matches took place, the most notable being the annual match with Jarrolds Printers of Norwich. A key figure in the 1950s was the Section's chairman, Wilf Rockley.

1955: Angling Section 1976: Westwood Angling Club 1976: Angling Forum at Alma Road 1978: Norris Family Memorial Trophy donated 1980: Angling Club Badge designed by Mick Lord 1985: BP team win Angling Match against Jarrolds 1985: Peter Hinch gets top weight against Jarrolds
These two photographs belonged to Hector Reedman and are believed to show the Westwood Works Sports Club Angling section. The clothes and headgear suggest a pre-WW2 event. Can anyone confirm this and hazard a guess at the location?
