Westwood Works 1903-2003

Married vs. Singles

We have received several photographs of Marrieds vs. Singles football matches. The 1934 write-up suggests that this was an annual event but for how long were such matches a regular feature of life at Westwood Works? We would be very pleased to hear from anyone who participated in such games.

The colourful character at the right hand side of the 1944 and 1946 photographs is Mr. Pammenter, a Works labourer, well known for dressing-up as Robinson Crusoe on such occasions!
